Whenever we're asked by local and state agencies, The Salvation Army responds to our region's wildfires. As one of the nation’s major emergency relief organizations, The Salvation Army is on the ground before, during and after a disaster strikes. Our Emergency Disaster Services teams deploy in canteens, or mobile kitchens, to provide food, hydration, emotional comfort and more.

Since August 19, multiple Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Service teams have deployed to provide wildfire relief across Northern California.

Our Napa Valley Culinary Training Program Is Feeding Thousands

October 9 Update
Napa Corps
The Glass Fire has burned 67,484 acres as of today. It is 74% contained. The Napa Corps is preparing breakfast, lunch & dinner for evacuees in Napa and Sonoma Counties.
Redding Corps
The Zogg Fire has burned 56,338 acres and is 95% contained. Our Redding team is preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner for evacuees in Shasta County.
Yuba Sutter Corps
Our Yuba Sutter team is providing breakfast, lunch and dinner for evacuees of multiple fires at hotels in Yuba City. They are serving up to 75 meals per day.
October 5 Update
Napa Corps (Glass Fire: 65,580 acres, 30% contained, burning in Napa and Sonoma Counties, 1,235 structures destroyed)
- Preparing breakfast, lunch & dinner to evacuees at 16 hotels
- 2,400 meals/day
Redding Corps (Zogg Fire: 56,305 acres, 76% contained, burning in Shasta County, 203 structures destroyed, 4 deaths)
- Prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner to evacuees at 6 hotels
- 133 meals/day
Yuba Sutter Corps (serving evacuees from various fires)
- Preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner for evacuees at hotels in Yuba City
- 75 meals/day
October 1 Update
Last night, we were able to demobilize our Santa Rosa response.
Napa Corps (Glass Fire: 56,781 acres, 5% contained, burning in Napa and Sonoma Counties, 248 structures destroyed)
- Preparing breakfast, lunch & dinner to evacuees at 17 hotels
- 3,693 meals/day
Redding Corps (serving evacuees from multiple fires, including from Oregon in Yreka)
- Preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner to evacuees at 5 hotels
- 574 meals/day (ending our service on Saturday)
- Will begin serving in Redding tomorrow (250 meals/day for the Zogg Fire)
Yuba Sutter Corps (serving evacuees from various fires)
- Preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner for evacuees at 6 hotels in Yuba City & Williams
- 477 meals/day
Sacramento Corps (serving evacuees from various fires)
- Providing breakfast, lunch and dinner for evacuees at 7 hotels
- 75 meals/day
Wildfire first responders receive a great meal.
Before, during and after a wildfire, The Salvation Army is there. We are committed to assisting those fighting all regional fires and those who have been forced out of their homes due to evacuations.
