Time is ticking for kids to enjoy the end of their summer break, as schools across our region begin in late August and early September. Stress levels can rise as back-to-school activities beckon to millions of families nationwide. Parents will soon be scavenging the store aisles to grab the school supply items requested by that oh-so-specific new teacher, but amid the hustle and bustle of nabbing deals and buying new clothes is an often overlooked reality: many kids are without these basic back-to-school necessities.

That’s why each year, The Salvation Army coordinates back-to-school events and distributions for families in need of a helping hand throughout our Division in Northern California and Northern Nevada. You can help support our efforts!

July 28th, 2018 at Target, "Shop with a Cop."
 

 

 

August 11th, 2018 at JcPenney.

 

 

August 3rd, 2018 at Target in the Coddingtown Mall. 100+ gift cards were provided to low income, fire survivors and Tutoring and Mentoring (TAM) program students grades K-6.

 

 

 

August 4th, 2018 at The Salvation Army Reno Corps:
 

 

 

 

July 28th, 2018 at Walmart. Shopping Spree kicked-off at 7:00 AM. Each child was given a backpack filled with supplies, $100 and a personal shopper to assist them while shopping.
