The Salvation Army in Chico Opens Doors to New Community Center
The Salvation Army in Chico has officially opened the doors to their new Community Center. The vision for the new Corps Community Center is to provide a creative and higher level of care for the guest that the Chico Corps serves.
Grand opening festivities began with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, an open house and dodge ball tournament on Saturday, and ended with a dedication service on Sunday. Captains Craig & Arwyn Rodriguera wanted to use this weekend as an opportunity to thank the community, and to show their vision for the new Center.
This new 18,700 square foot building includes a multi-purpose room & chapel, family services/emergency disaster wing, a commercial kitchen and food pantry, gymnasium, 3 classrooms, a nursery, playground, an administrative wing, and a room for programs aimed at teen & young adults.
Not only is the building incredible, but there are amazing programs that will be offered at the Chico Corps Community Center. Summer Day Camp recently launch for children ages 6-12, and this fall the Center will offer a Senior Morning Program as well as a Youth Enrichment Program.
