Currently, we have Workforce Development training at our Sacramento, Lodi, Alameda and Napa locations.
Made possible by LiUNA! (Laborers' International Union of Northern America)
The video below describes the impact our Sacramento Workforce Development brings to our community and the individuals enrolled.
This program helps students develop entry-level kitchen skills so that they may successfully work in the food industry. Sacramento, known as the Farm to Table capital, is home to hundreds of establishments in the metro area, from pop-up catering to high end restaurants. Sacramento has it all!
Made possible by Quest Nursing Education Center
This program helps individuals gain the skills they need to pass the Certified Nurse’s Assistant Exam.
After completing the exam, students can be hired in local healthcare settings. The program also equips students with job readiness skills, interviewing techniques and resume writing.
Many of the students come from situations of housing insecurity and/or addiction
. Those interested in applying for the next Certified Nurse’s Assistant Training Program session can contact Privilege Chadwick at Privilege.Chadwick@usw.salvationarmy.org or at (510) 383-9300.
Members of the Culinary Arts Program are provided 16 weeks of intensive training includes a National Restaurant Association ServSafe Certification upon passing the ServSafe Exam.
The 25 hours-per-week program offers a wider range of academic activities, directed hands-on training in a state of the art kitchen,
community field trips to a variety of food service operations, and one-on-one mentoring provided by industry professionals.
The Napa Valley Culinary Training Academy is the only jobs-training program in Napa County specifically
designed to provide employable skills to adults engaged in recovery from addiction, trauma or
homelessness—to lessen the likelihood of returning to a harmful lifestyle that is dependent on social services.
The Academy offers a path for those who have successfully overcome difficult challenges
and are prepared to work toward employment and self-sufficiency.
