Salvation Army Summer Camp

Give the Gift of Camp

Nestled in the Foothills near Nevada City, The Salvation Army's Camp Del Oro provides summer camp for underserved kids in Northern California and Northern Nevada.

Why Summer Camp?

For most kids, summer is magical — but summer does little to relieve the stress of living in poverty, abusive homes, or troubled neighborhoods. That's why Salvation Army summer camps are so important. For one week, kids in need can escape their surroundings, enjoy new adventures and friends, and be the happiest version of themselves.

Every kid deserves a summer adventure, and Camp provides that adventure while also changing lives. Camp gives kids a safe place to explore, play, and find their confidence. For six days and five nights, kids get to be in a place that is away from their daily reality, and where they are loved unconditionally.

Last summer, our donors helped us send 1,044 kids to camp!

"At Camp, we were shown how to be respectful of ourselves, counselors and fellow campers. If we ever needed anything or were upset about something we could tell our counselor right away. Treat others kindly and do not exclude anyone. And most importantly we were to HAVE FUN! And we did! Camp wasn't just fun - it changed my life for the better."

- Randoll, 15
